Club Code of Conduct

The Beaufort Football & Netball Club (BFNC) is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all our players and strengthening the good reputation of Australian Rules Football, Netball, the Central Highlands Football League and the Central Highlands Netball League.

This code of conduct has been developed to meet the requirements outlined by the Australian Sports Commission document “The Essence of Australian Sport Code of Behaviours”, Netball Victoria Junior Code of Conduct and AFL Victoria Code of Conduct and has been approved by the Beaufort Football & Netball Club Board of Management.

The Board Members, Administrative Officials, Coaches, Support Staff, Volunteers, Members, Players and Supporters will maintain the following standards whilst undertaking approved BFNC activities, attending any approved BFNC functions, participating in and / or watching BFNC games or representing the BFNC in any capacity shall adhere to the following and demonstrate the 5 Core Values relating to the Fair Play Code.

  • Always play by the rules. Know the rules. Always be on time.
  • Respecting the rights, dignity and worth of others. Treat all players as you would like to be treated.
  • Be responsible for your own actions. Always ensure that your behaviour is fair.
  • Be a responsible team member.
  • All ways play fairly and honestly. Play by the rules without bad temper or arguments.
  • Provide a safe environment for the conduct of football, netball and their associated activities.
  • Participate because you enjoy it, not to please parents or coaches.
  • Being aware of and maintaining an uncompromising adhesion to the BFNC, CHFL & CHNL rules and policies.
  • Refrain from any harassment or discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion or ability, which includes the responsible use of social media.
  • Being a positive role model, especially for peers, junior players and the community.
  • Avoiding any reportable offences, breaches or misconduct on and off the field or court.
  • Be a patient and enthusiastic support of other players.
  • Applaud all good play, either by your own team or your opponents.
  • Respecting the facilities, equipment and property belonging to the BFNC and opposing clubs (and / or its members)
  • Ensure you always bring the appropriate uniform and equipment to training / games.
  • Approach the Umpires in a courteous way. Remember they are volunteers who are giving up their time so you can play.
  • Cooperate with your teammates and encourage and assist all players.
  • Respect your Coaches and Team Officials, remember they are volunteers giving up their time to help you.
  • Always play your best, participating for the enjoyment and helping others to reach their full potential.
  • Do not engage in practices that affect your sporting performance such as alcohol, tabacco or drug use.
  • Failing to adhere to the BFNC Illegal Drug Policy.
  • Respect and acknowledge the contribution of those who create the opportunity for you to play, such as Coaches, Umpires, Team Managers, Timekeepers, Scorers and Club Officials & Volunteers.

Players Code of Conduct

As we all know kids are kids but sometimes some kids like to push the boundaries.

Our club does not accept Bullying – and therefore the following Warnings have been put into place. Please speak with your child and explain what can happen.

If anyone has any issues regarding Bullying – please speak to your coach first.

1st Warning Meet with Coach / Team Manager
2nd Warning Meet with Committee Member as well as child/parents
3rd Warning Suspended 2 weeks – and not able to win an award on Presentation Night.
